India vs Pakistan, Greatest T20 Ever !

Ohh King! You beautyyyyy
Respect Always

When two arc-rivals meet each other in a huge stage like World Cup, the atmosphere will be absolutely electrifying. And if the game is between rivals like India and Pakistan and at a venue like MCG, that will be an epic encounter. The whole world and almost 1 Lakh people in the stadium have witnessed such a thing on 23rd October at T20 WC 2022.

No India vs Pakistan game can finish without tension, drama, tragedy, suspense, fun, and also heartbreak. But for the past 10 to 12 years, the thing that constant in these games is Virat Kohli’s greatness. The innings that he has played that night is ‘the best’ in his carrier, and the whole World will remember it forever.

He has pulled this special victory from Pakistan, which is hard to believe for them and also to us. The way we celebrated this win it felt like we have won the WC. The absolute crazy scenes are just moving around our mind and we had got perfect gift and moment before Diwali. Yes there are other players also performed in the game but the King was real hero in the match. India is so fortunate to have a superstar player like him.

India have defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets and Virat Kohli was the Man of the Match. We can’t deny that this man is the Night-mare for Pakistan and owns them. While all other batters struggled to survive against Pakistan’s bowling he smashed them all over the park. He is doing this for years and years. Every time he steps into the field against Pakistan, he just became a player of different league.

Match Summary:-

This match was like a Roller Coaster. India won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat. We started with a bang with the ball, as Arshdeep who was playing his 1st WC game removed both their openers and main batters Babar & Rizwan. After that their middle order which is very much vulnerable actually did a decent job. Firstly Masood and Iftikhar built a steady partnership then the moment they started attacking to our spinners our pacers brought us back to the game again.

However fifties from Masood, Iftikhar and crucial strikes from Shaheen and Rauf took them to a good fighting total of 159. Our all the pacers bowled well, where Arshdeep was pick of them. Spinners were not looked very impressive today. But overall it was an excellent bowling performance. With the power pack batting line up this score was always going to be chaseable but looking at their bowling it was never going to be that easy.

Considering the fact that among our all batters only Virat has done well against Pakistan in T20Is, and the problem of facing new balls against quality left arm seamers we were bit nervous also. Especially focus was on KL and Rohit against their pacers, but once again our top batters failed us in a big game. Despite being in form of his carrier Sky also failed again against Pakistan team.

While Axar was sent up the order just like Jadeja in the Asia Cup to build partnership and to tackle their spinners, got run-out with a huge mix up between him and Virat. India were 31 for 4 at a stage during the chase. But after that Virat was joined by fully confident Hardik and they built a good partnership taking the game deep, maintaining the required run rate in control.

Just like Pakistan targeted Axar, India did actually the same with Nawaj at all most same period of time, but the difference was India had a 6th bowling option like Hardik for which Axar was not given overs after that one over where he conceded 21 runs, but in case of Pakistan there was no such opportunity for Babar. Hence he had to change his tactics that forced him to bring back their premier pacers.

Naseem & Rauf bowled couple of good overs where both Virat and Hardik didn’t managed to score boundaries and India was in trouble requiring 48 of last three overs. Three overs were bowled by Shaheen, Rauf and Nawaj, but as Shaheen wasn’t looked fully on top, Rauf could have given that 18th over where our batters scored 17 runs from Shaheen. But still 31 from 12 and Rauf bowling in 19th over gave enough confidence to Pakistan side.

He bowled extremely well in first 4 balls just conceding 3 runs, latter in 4th and 5th ball Virat hit two out of two sixes, one on the back of length slower ball to long on and another flick over deep fine leg. This moment actually turned the game in favour of us. With 16 to get from last 6 balls and with Hardik and Virat well set in the crease it was so hard for Nawaj to stop them.

But how can a India vs Pakistan game finish with out drama, Hardik got out on very first ball and only 3 came from next two balls. 13 from 3, Virat on strike Pressure on both and that’s the moment Nawaj did the mistake. He bowled a waist height no ball on which Virat hits a six over midwicket, then he bowled a wide and on the free hit, ball hit the stumps but we got 3 runs of bye.

With 2 required from 2 the game was over for Pakistan, but on 5th ball Nawaj got DK out and the drama continued. Everyone were on their fit 2 from 1 and Ashwin on strike, this is where he showed his experience. Nawaj bowled one down the leg to which Ashwin judged well and left for a wide and hit the next one straight down the ground safely for 4 and India celebrated a famous win over Pakistan on the very last ball.

After the game finished the scenes were absolutely emotional and heart-warming. Rohit took Virat on his shoulders and there were tears in the eyes of Hardik and Virat. Everyone were jumping and hugging each other and the whole crowd was on their feet chanting India… India…. Virat…. Virat… Even our former cricketers doing commentary couldn’t hold there feeling of joy, they were also dancing.

This is not a World Cup final but where the game was stand in half way mark, to win from that situation in such a manner and against Pakistan make us feel like out of the World. This is just a start to the tournament and the way we have won today and the emotions in the team bonding just telling us loudly that this is our year. The wait will be ending this time for sure. Hoping for the best and wishing Best of luck to team India.

Thank you so much King Kohli…
Fan Forever.
