When the Indian Cricket Team Won the T20WC in 2007, the idea of IPL came into picture. And ever since it has started, it has now became the Biggest Cricketing League in the World. Be in terms of quality of Cricket or be in Money and Branding. The idea was, to provide some quality cricket along with some fun and entertainment through the shortest format of the game.
It has been 18 years and the vision has been successful. We have been watching some really quality cricket and enjoying every bit of it during these two months. Hot Summer Evenings are becoming the moments of fun, banter and entertainment. Where all the teams are being supported and cheered by their passionate fans.
Sometimes, it has been hated and criticized by the people also. For the high amount of money involved in it, that allows domestic players to priorities it rather playing whole domestic season. Even when Indian Team have failed to deliver in biggest stage (ICC Tournaments), IPL has become the scapegoat and player’s commitment has been questioned.
IPL is also blamed for BCCI’s poor approach towards other Domestic Tournaments like Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy. Well, it’s not the exact problem. But one can easily feel the superior value that IPL brings to the Indian Cricket Circuit. It is now the easiest path which is leading towards National Side’s Selection.
Now, it is not just a platform for fun and entertainment. But also, the quality has allowed the new comers to show case their skill from the start itself. The atmosphere in the teams, the fearless mindset and the aim of playing for the Nation, keep pushing the youngsters to thrive at the highest level. Particularly after Co-vid, where teams were forced to have multiple teams for multiple formats, now it has been a normal thing for team like India. The numbers are that much, where Team India can field 2 to 3 T20I Side easily and each side will look strong enough on paper. So many young talents have emerged through all these years. And after India’s T20WC victory, the approach has been ruthless, which these young guns adapting really well.
Just a few days back, A 14 Years Old boy named, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a record breaking century playing for RR. At the age, where many of us may not able to find our dream, that boy became the youngest and fastest Indian to score a 100 against a quality bowling attack.
