After Gabba and Capetown, now it’s time to celebrate another victory, which came at Birmingham during 2nd Test between India and England in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. It is the first time, Team India have won a Test Match at this specific venue in their 9th attempt. Also, Team India became the first Asian Side to do this work since 1962. It is also going to be remembered as a memorable Test Win, because, it is a start of the New Era under new Captain, Shubman Gill.

Total 5 individual Centuries made by Indian Batters, 5 Wicket haul for Jasprit Bumrah. Still Team India got a shocking loss in the first game at Leeds. But Team India made a huge comeback here. A Test Match where too many records were made and broken, 336 runs was the Winning Margin. The Series is now in level with 1-1 heading into 3rd Test at Home of Cricket, Lords. Now, it becomes like a 3 match series for both the teams, where they will want to win 2 games and clinch the Series.

The Highlight of this game was, the amount of time India kept English Players on the field while their batting. The area, where Team India have lacked in so many occasions, the lower middle & lower order contributions with the bat, clicked perfectly in this game. In the last game India’s last 13 Wickets had fallen only for just 72 runs, across 2 innings. But, here they managed to put a huge total of 587 in the first inning, after been 210/5.

They also made 400 plus score in 2nd inning, with the first inning lead of 180 runs. A mammoth target of 607 in 4th inning, around 105-110 overs being left, was always going to be an impossible task for any team. But, with Bazball we had expected some really entertaining fight. It didn’t came and India got a famous Win. Shubman Gill led the team with the bat, by scoring record breaking twin tons in both innings. 269 & 161, aggregately 430 which is highest for any Indian batter, 2nd highest overall.

He also became the only Player to score 250 in 1st inning and 150 in 2nd inning. There were more records he broke during this game as captain also. Other batters supported well to his batting master class. Akashdeep, who was brought into the side in absence of Bumrah, played the pivotal role in the bowling department. His new ball spells and 10 Wickets, with support from Mohammed Siraj (7 Wickets), rattled English batters totally.

Only a partnership of 300 Plus runs between Brook and Jamie Smith had given some headache to Indian Management during 1st Session of 3rd Day. Other than that, it was all-over Indian bowling against Bazball. Fielding in this match was way better as compared to previous one, which had coasted the match there. Team India produced a perfect game with the contribution from major of the players in the XI. Few questions were still left to be answered.

Sometimes Cricket is a very brutal game. Even if you do so many right things, one or two small mistakes can cost you the game. Well, Team India got away from that small mistake, which they made during the Playing 11 Selection. Although one can justify the selections, as the result came in our favor. But, that doesn’t mean we should continuously repeat that mistake again and again. Team have regularly kept Kuldeep at the bench, even after his brilliant performances.

He is perhaps the 2nd best Wicket taking option apart from Bumrah in the side. And we can’t afford to leave him regularly. How many opportunities will be given to Prasidh Krishna after his regular poor outcomes, is still a question. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Arshdeep Singh in Red Ball format after his great success in White Ball Format. Also, there are no clarity over few other spots like no.3 & no.7, which we have wait till 3rd game.

There is a high possibility of Bumrah making a comeback at Lords and most likely in the place of Prasidh. Will Team Management continue the trust with Karun Nair or they will go back to Sai Sudharsan, whom they dropped just after the first game? And finally, role of Nitish Reddy? Well, the turnaround time for the 3rd is so less and Indian Team have to make quick decisions? Let’s see, what are the changes Team India making for the Lords Test and how they are playing it ?
